What this is, and what it isn't

What it is

A free tool for planning a battle jacket or a battle vest before you sew it. You pick a garment in the colour you already own, drop patches onto the front and the back, and move them around until the whole thing sits right.

Every patch carries its real size in centimetres, and the garment is a real size M, so what fits on screen is what fits on the denim. When the layout is done you export it as an image and keep it on your phone while you stitch.

It costs nothing, there is nothing to install, and you don't need an account. An account only makes your designs follow you from one device to another.

What it isn't

It isn't a shop. We don't sell battle jackets or vests, finished or otherwise. We don't sew patches onto anything, we don't take orders, and there is nothing here to have made for you.

The only thing we sell is our own patch, and buying one is what keeps the builder free and free of ads. That's the whole business model.

Where the patches come from

From patch shops and the people who make them. Almost every patch in the library links straight to the shop that sells it, so once your layout is settled you buy direct from them. We don't stock patches, we don't ship them, and nothing you buy goes through us.

If you make patches, send us your shop and we'll add them at their real size with a link back to you on every one. It costs nothing at the moment, and you only have to ask.

The old ways stay

A battle jacket was never meant to come finished. It's sewn by its owner, one patch at a time, out of merch tables, trades at gigs, thrift finds and the shops and makers who print and stitch them.

None of that changes here. Nothing on this site replaces the needle, the merch table or the person who has been sewing their own for thirty years. The builder is the sketch before the first stitch, and the library is a map back to the people who make the patches.
